Saturday was downright chilly, but you wouldn’t know it from the way the Marching Tigers hustled on the field and performed their show, “Neon.” An electric performance, with spot-on musicality and fantastic visuals.
Sayreville War Memorial High School competition is always a special one, due to the large hill that the band and the instruments have to come down in order to make it to the field. Kudos belong to all the stalwart volunteers who steered all of the equipment over bumps and gravel to make it on time!
After a wonderful performance, where the audience in the stands were suitably impressed, it eventually came time to the scores. Congratulations go to the First Place Winners – the SPHS Marching Tigers!
Another Impressive Score of 89.0, up from last week, as well as awards for Best Auxiliary and Best Percussion. They were even awarded the Mayor’s Trophy for the best score of the entire day!
Region 7 Championships are at Toms River High School North on Sunday, October 25. We’ll See You There!
