October Brings Higher Scores!

Published on

The Marching Tigers supported the Football team on our home field on Friday night with stand tunes and a lot of heart. They then took the stage at half-time to perform their program. The Boosters were on hand to assist with props and instruments, Fried Oreos, and a ton of baked goods available to the musicians after their performance.

Then, after a good night’s sleep, they were up and at it to prepare for their next competition! Rehearsal in the morning, a TexMex feast before boarding the buses, and of course, the Tetris-like loading of the trailer.

It was a beautiful afternoon in Iselin. It was a rare one for the Marching Tigers, as they were able to relax after their performance and enjoy all the other competing bands’ shows.

One of the best things about Competition Season is to watch the Marching Tigers improve week after week. The Marching Tigers captured First Place. They also received an award for High Music, and topped it off with another season-high score!

Those of the Music Boosters not involved in the loading and unloading of the equipment truck (by my count, each task was done twice with mathematical precision) were on hand in the stands to cheer everyone on. Overheard in the stands during and after the South Plainfield Marching Tigers performed? Nothing but praise and excitement, especially from the students of the hosting band.

What’s next? Bring it on next Saturday, October 11th at Sayreville War Memorial High School! If you’re free – come cheer on the hardest working band (and parent group) in New Jersey!
