The SPHS Marching Tigers had an action-packed weekend!
They cheered on their fellow students at the Cranford/South Plainfield Football Game. Then they quickly went into rehearsal mode at the school. They needed to get ready for their next competition!

The Marching Band took a trip to nearby Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, where they competed for the first time against three other bands of the AA level at the New Jersey Marching Band Directors Association. This competition marked a difference in the schools competing and the judges’ scoring.

It was a beautiful day. The Marching Tigers and the hardest-working Music Boosters around worked tirelessly to guarantee a stellar performance. They were rewarded with a First Place Finish. Commendations were given for Best Effects and Best Visual!

The Marching Band was not content to rest on their laurels. They were on-hand on Sunday for the rescheduled “Fall into Christmas” (Formerly Christmas in July). Not only did they open the festivities with a performance of the Star-Spangled Banner, the different sections of the Marching Band contributed baskets for the Boosters’ Tricky Tray Auction. Music Boosters were on hand to sell their famous Fried Oreos, Apparel, Christmas Goodies, and Raffle Tickets.

Onward and Upward for the Music Boosters and the Marching Tigers! Our Full Competition Schedule can be found here.
