2024 ACCs at Hershey Park

Congratulations are in order for the hardworking members of the SPHS Marching Tigers, who capped off an amazing season at the TOB Atlantic Coast Championships this past weekend at Hershey Park, PA.

Weren’t able to make the competition? Check out the day below!

Ever wonder what the Pit Crew does after a rehearsal? Now you can see all the hard work!

Saturday morning saw the band rehearsing once again at Jost Field, and then grabbing a quick snack before hitting the road for Hershey Park! Kids ate while the Pit Crew once again performed Tetris Magic to get everything snug and secure on the trailer.

Welcome to the ACCs!

At Hershey, South Plainfield was one of 11 bands competing in the 2-A Class. The band and guard had some time to practice some more, of course, and share this amazing time with each other.

Performance Time! Once Again the Marching Band took us Behind the Smile!

After the performance, the band sat down to a gourmet feast, complete with benches, courtesy of both last year’s Notre Dame program, not to mention the hard-working Pit Crew who had to transport them. But since their motto is “We Pick Things Up and Put Them Down” it came naturally to them.

The Competition was Fierce!

When all the bands had left it all on the field, it was time for the awards.

Winning awards for High Visual and High Auxiliary, the Marching Tigers scored an Amazing 93.63 out of 100 – achieving a Second Place Finish – and, after showcasing excellence all this year, the SPHS Marching Band has been promoted to Open Class for next year’s season. This is an outstanding recognition for the hard work, dedication, and talent that the Marching Tigers, its coaching staff, Pit Crew, and all fantastic volunteers have put forward these last two months.

The SPHS Music Boosters are so proud of everyone who worked so hard this season. Lots of early mornings and late nights, as well as some rain (but mostly sun!) along the way carried us through from September to November. Thank you to everyone who supported the Marching Band throughout the season. Whether you cooked food, carried an instrument, loaded a trailer, pushed a sail, or sat in the stands to cheer them on, this whole season was a team effort!
