Saturday – STATES

Published on

The end of October brings bittersweet things – the leaves are falling, the air is colder, and it is almost the end of Marching Band Season. This past weekend saw the Marching Tigers at their last home game at Jost Field, and then it was on to the TOB NJ State Competition in Barnegat, NJ.

Performing for the home crowd at a great football game is a thrill for spectators and music boosters, and Friday was no exception. Great field conditions meant that the Tigers Ate it Up on the Field!

Play those Stand Tunes!

Practice started early Saturday morning – Drumline was there at 7:15! After vigorous rehearsal, it was time to fuel up – with some comfort food and spooky treats! We appreciate all the hard-working Boosters who feed the band every week!

The Boosters unpacked the trailer and readied everything for the show in record time, all thanks to careful planning and a well-oiled machine of assistance. Don’t forget the snack table!

Warming up amid the other competing bands at Barnegat High School kept the chilly air at bay.

Then it was time for the State Championship Performance!

After an amazing performance, it was time for scores. Our drum majors were joined by section leaders and seniors on the field for the results – and again, the Marching Tigers improved their score to 91.7 and achieved Second Place – no small feat for the first year in a new category. There is so much to be proud of by these student musicians and the boosters who cart speakers, marimbas, sails, and sideline panels on and off the field.

One more competition before the 2025 Season ends – stay tuned for the report from the ACC’s at Hershey Park!
